What is TNS?

The Triple Nine Society (TNS) is an international high-IQ society for adults whose standardized test scores demonstrate an IQ at or above the 99.9th percentile of the human population.

TNS was founded in 1978, and has been committed to friendship, communication, the adventure of intellectual exploration, and a greater realization of individual potentials ever since. Our Constitution declares democracy, collegiality, respect for diverse philosophies, and openness to innovation and evolution as guiding principles of the society.

The 1,900 TNS members come from diverse educational, ethnic, cultural, and political backgrounds, and our geographic distribution spans 45 US jurisdictions and 50 countries. Our singular commonality lies in our all having scored at or above the 99.9th percentile on a test of adult intelligence, e.g. GRE, MAT, Stanford-Binet, Wechsler, HAWIE, etc. You can find the full list of currently accepted tests and scores on our test scores page.

Unique access to inquisitive and brilliant minds from all over the world provides opportunities for deep connection and intellectual stimulation, for mentorship, both in educational and business settings, for personal and interpersonal growth. Our members enjoy a variety of official and unofficial ways to connect and communicate, including private and secure discussion fora, Facebook groups, our journal Vidya (available both electronically and in print), regional and global in-person gatherings, virtual gatherings and group voice chats, board game nights, special groups, and more.
